Terence Mckenna was a pioneer botanist and psychonaut and a significant figure of the counter culture movement of the 1970's. His psychedelic experiences  brought an intellectual outlook upon the use of these perception-bending drugs thought to be non-existent by the general public. This typography piece is based on one of his spoken theories on the function of language as an evolutionary, and magical tool.

Although this animation is about words, it is the motion and type design that speaks the clearest here, pointing toward the deeper message behind Mckenna's surreal vision of language.
